KALARI RASAYANA

The KALARI RASAYANA was created to relieve the pressure on the KALARI KOVILAKOM, another property of the CGH group which is always full due to the way Ayurveda is practiced there.

We will therefore find there all the qualities that have made this palace located in the Pallakad region one of the most highly regarded centers in Kerala.

Here, there are no concessions to addictions, stress, or the various forms of pollution to which we have become all too accustomed. One could compare the KALARI RASAYANA to a luxury ashram or a hotel-monastery, except that there is no allusion to religion, no proselytizing or sectarian discourse; one comes here to regenerate or to heal.

While the rules of the retreat may seem very strict, they are in fact simply tools at your disposal to help you disconnect and reconnect with yourself. Silence is revered here, as is attention to your own inattention. The program is packed and meticulously timed: early mornings, yoga, treatments, meditation, and so on. Clocks are everywhere. Everyone is dressed the same, in white bathrobes or kurtas (similar to spa treatments), and communication is based on shared experience rather than conversation.

The effects are spectacular - both for people who suffer from arthritis, psoriasis, insomnia, or other conditions - and for those who do not have any diagnosed pathologies.

No white sand beach, no swimming pool, only nature with sunsets over the lake, simple, medically supervised food (as are the treatments), yoga, meditation, introspective solitude, peace of mind and body. (It is actually preferable to come alone rather than as a couple), but an inner space to discover without the use of intellect.
